Don Hughes serves as the General Contractor for Master Built with over 18 years of construction experience that includes Roofing, Custom Homes, General Construction and Commercial jobs. This broad range of experience has included designing house/construction plans, estimating, supervising the entire construction process and coordinating high volumes of production while taking care of the customer throughout the process. Don started his first small construction company in 1996 and has continuously grown since then. Don stayed focused on growing, learning and mastering each phase of progress. He believes that each job should be a win for not only the company but for the customer as well.
In addition, Don has over 5 years of insurance claims experience as an insurance adjuster. This experience contributes to the overall success of the company to include not only the knowledge of the insurance claims process but to apply that knowledge to the construction process as well. He is dedicated, honest and works hard to ensure customer satisfaction. Guaranteed!
Don has an awesome extended family as well as four wonderful children. Two children in college, one in the seventh grade and one in fourth grade. They are the highlight and joy of his life. The hope is that one day they will be a significant part of the Master Built Team. For now … education and spending time together is the focus.

Raquel R. Rodriguez
Raquel R. Rodriguez is a native Texan with extensive experience in many areas of responsibility while in a business environment. This includes a broad range of experience in not only customer service and management but accounting as well. She has worked in contract sales for years and has had her fair share of providing service to construction contractors. The years Raquel has spent working contract sales and servicing contractors has given her a thorough knowledge about construction and building materials. She frequently had to take care of multiple contractors simultaneously with a pleasant and professional attitude. She is great at multi-tasking and taking care of everyone around her. Her experience, pleasant attitude and willingness to help everyone makes her a great asset to the Master Built Team. She is a joy to work with. Raquel is bilingual and is a vital part of our communications as a company.
When Raquel is not working, she dedicated to her church and touching other lives with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She is a loyal sports enthusiast with team favorites that include the Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers.

Joseph Nguyen came to Master Built Contractors in 2014. He brings to our team his years of experience in real estate sales and insurance adjusting. While working as an insurance adjuster with a major insurance carrier, Joseph became proficient with negociating insurance claims and working through the claims process. With his knowledge, he is able to help our customers through this same process with confidence. Joseph is billingual and serves an important part in our customer communications as well as managing projects. We also must add that he cooks some of the best crawish you will ever eat!
Kayla M. Coppock
Kayla M. Coppock is an Administrator here at Master Built Contractors. She is originally from south Mississippi, but now calls Texas her home. She has worked in sales and customer service for nearly 10 years. She has a very enthusiastic, professional attitude and is always excited to help.
Outside of work, Kayla loves spending time with her partner. She is extremely family oriented and loves traveling the world. Kayla is a true musician, but singing is her passion. She always lifts people up with her high spirits and positive attitude!
Charles A. Tomasello
Charles A. Tomasello was born in Pittsburgh, PA and now resides in Dallas, TX. He spent 20 years on the Mississippi Gulf Coast before deciding to move to Dallas, TX. Charles began buying and renovating residential properties on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Over a period of 5 years, 1994-1999, Charles purchased well over 500 single family & multi-family units. He built a team of turn key renovation specialists and formed a Real Estate Management Company that managed 1000+ units by 1999.
In 2001 his company began developing and building single family and multifamily residential units. The investment strategy brought new housing stock to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and great returns to the respective owners. He implemented a “Build to Rent” philosophy to individual investors retaining the management. The success of new home construction was slightly curtailed when Hurricane Katrina devastated the Mississippi Gulf Coast. However, the hurricane only caused a slight delay and with a much-needed replacement stock of housing Charles and his team delivered 1,400+ single family and townhomes units on the Gulf Coast and Jackson, MS markets. Total sales of $168,000,000.00 in real estate.
Charles refocused his efforts on management after new construction curtailed in 2009 because of the financial subprime crisis. The property management company successfully managed 700+ scattered site units. He spearheaded the operations of the companies.
Today, Charles has many successful multifamily properties on the MS Gulf Coast and is excited about the opportunities that are ahead in Dallas, TX. Charles is spearheading the Renovations Division for Master Built Contractors alongside Owner and CEO Don Hughes. The team has a combined 50 years of construction, roofing, insurance estimating and claims, construction management, land lording, and renovation experience.
As an entrepreneur and businessman at heart, Matt Wells, started his first business, buying and selling real estate, with two business partners in 2003 where they achieved much success. After about a decade in the house flipping business, with well over 200 single family transactions under his belt, it was time for a change.
We at Master Built are grateful to have Matt on board. He’s become a real expert in what we do and how to work through the insurance process. Matt’s great at helping our clients through what could be a very difficult time and process. He truly has everyone’s best interest in mind and the feedback we get from Matt’s clients make it clear that he represents us well.
Buddy Hughes came to the Master Built team in 2014. His primarily role is greeting office guests, and stress relief for employees when the office gets a little hectic. Buddy is always good for an ear scratch, belly rub, and stealing your lunch. When not at the feet of Don, you can find Buddy at the dog park, barking at the mailman, and looking for the next fire hydrant.
Tanner Hughes is currently earning his Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction Science at Mississippi State University with intentions to one day follow his father’s footsteps with contracting. Tanner was born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi but wants to pursue a career in the DFW area as soon he graduates. Organization, positivity, and dedication are three of many of his strong suits that he brings to the table to benefit our team. Through Tanner’s internship, he hopes to learn the ropes through helping out on projects and shadowing our team members.
In Tanner’s free time, he enjoys being on the boat, golfing, and spending time with his family. He is a member of Pinelake Church in Starkville, MS but during his summer in Dallas, he attends Fellowship Church. His faith and family are two of the most important things in his life.
